English FAQ
What is electricity trading (retail electricity)?
Electricity trading means that retail electricity companies registered at power exchanges, like us, procure electricity on behalf of your company in medium-long term and spot markets, while providing settlement and energy optimization services. According to Article 11 of the Basic Rules for Power Market Operation (NDRC Order No. 20), energy trading is divided into medium-long term and spot categories.
How can Pengfeng Retail help us save on electricity bills?
We combine medium-long term price locking, flexible spot operations, and demand response, plus deviation management, to lower your comprehensive electricity costs. We also integrate VPP adjustment and solar-storage peak shaving for further savings. Beyond regular power, we can also procure green power and green certificates—helping you cut costs while meeting compliance and carbon reduction goals. With 7.5 billion kWh cumulative trading experience across multiple provinces, we provide customized calculations based on your actual load profile.
We haven't entered the power market yet. Can we still work with Pengfeng?
Absolutely. If you are currently a grid-purchased customer, we first help you evaluate the timing and conditions for transitioning to market-based trading, calculating both benefits and risks before honestly advising when and whether to switch. We won't push you into the market just to sign a contract—we calculate from your perspective.
Why are Pengfeng's retail electricity rates more competitive?
Our price advantage comes from professional trading capability, stable upstream procurement, and 7.5 billion kWh of trading experience. We aim for "optimal comprehensive cost," not just cheap per-kWh rates. This includes electricity price, adjustment revenue, carbon reduction value, and service. Specific quotes are calculated based on current market conditions and your load profile.
What is grid agency purchasing? How is it different from retail electricity service?
Grid agency purchasing is a transitional mechanism during market reform, following listed prices and market movements. Retail electricity service, by contrast, provides customized trading strategies plus value-added services like load adjustment and carbon reduction. We help you compare and decide whether to transition from grid purchasing to market-based trading.
What conditions must we meet to enter the power market? Is the process complicated?
Industrial and commercial users need to complete market registration and settlement binding, per provincial trading rules. While the process involves several steps, we assist with condition assessment and handle the paperwork—leaving the complexity to us and the convenience to you. You only need to provide basic documentation.
What retail packages does Pengfeng offer? How do we choose?
Based on your electricity volume and risk preference, we offer medium-long term price locking, flexible spot, and comprehensive packages. If you have green transition needs, we can include green power and green certificates in your procurement plan—achieving cost reduction, compliance, and carbon reduction together. We will calculate based on your load curve and risk tolerance to recommend the best fit.
What is the contract term? Can we switch midway? How is breach handled?
Contract terms are filed with the power exchange per market rules, subject to the written agreement. Before signing, our business team will confirm contract duration, exit terms, and breach provisions item by item—ensuring you sign clearly and use the service with peace of mind.
Who bears the deviation assessment risk?
Deviation assessment provisions are filed with the exchange per market rules, subject to the written agreement. In practice, we use trading strategy combinations and deviation management to proactively control deviation risks, minimizing unnecessary assessment losses. Responsibilities are clearly defined before signing.
Will electricity price reform make our bills more expensive?
The direction of power market reform is to improve trading efficiency, which benefits energy-using enterprises in optimizing costs long-term. Short-term comprehensive prices may fluctuate with supply-demand and trading strategies. We use trading portfolios and energy optimization to proactively control your comprehensive costs.
